Private Custom Application Development

Building custom web applications for personal and private projects, focusing on user-friendly solutions connected to transactional systems and decision support environments.

  • Currently developing an ASP.NET front-end system, including this portfolio website, designed to connect to SQL Server relational databases without going into project-specific detail.

Horse Racing Prediction System

Developing an ASP.NET application with Microsoft Access forms as the user interface, connected to a SQL Server database. The system enables race analysis and insights into performance trends, and helps me maintain and extend my technical skill sets.

  • Integrating the application with SQL Server to ensure efficient data access and compatibility for analytical queries and reporting through ASP.NET and Microsoft Access interfaces.

Client Brokerage Management System

Developed the CBMS front-end application from scratch to work with a centralised SQL Server backend, improving usability and efficiency for a state government department. The system manages client and program brokerage contracts, tracks payments in real time, supports budget monitoring, and addresses transaction discrepancies.

  • Developed a front-end application in Visual Basic within Microsoft Access, running on a terminal server to provide a user-friendly interface for end users.
  • Provided each regional agency with the ability to maintain and control its own data.
  • Implemented features such as form validation, interactive pop-up message dialogs, and error notifications to improve usability.

Booking System

Developed a booking system for a non-profit charity organisation, managing over 400 interpreting jobs per month in the mid-1990s, which continued operating for more than 20 years.

  • Initially built with Microsoft Access as the front end, featuring user-friendly forms and reports.
  • Later upgraded to an ASP.NET web-based application connected to a SQL Server database.
